Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 June 2026
Blyngo ("Blyngo", "we", "us") is a mobile app that helps people discover and join small-group activities in their city. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Blyngo app and website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Blyngo is operated by Vicky Enterprises, a sole proprietorship (proprietor: Vicky Kumar Prasad) registered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with its registered address at 214/A Picnic Garden Road, Kolkata, West Bengal 700039, India, the data fiduciary for the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Data we collect
Account and profile
- Phone number — used to sign in. We send a one-time password (OTP) by SMS to verify it.
- Profile details — your name, photo, and any details you choose to add to your profile (such as a bio or interests).
- Verification selfie — if you choose to verify your identity, we collect a selfie photo to confirm you match your profile photo.
Location
- City and home area — you tell us your city and neighbourhood. We convert the neighbourhood to approximate (coarse) coordinates so we can show distances and nearby activities. We never publish your exact home location to other users.
- Device location — if you grant the location permission, we use your device's location while you use the app to improve nearby results. We do not track your location in the background.
Content you create
- Activity listings, descriptions and photos you post as a host.
- Chat messages you send in activity group chats and direct messages. Messages are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and shown to participants.
- Reviews and ratings you give or receive.
- Photos and media captured with your camera or chosen from your photo library, only when you actively attach them.
Device and usage
- Push notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications.
- Device type, operating system version and app version.
- Crash reports and diagnostics when the app encounters an error.
- In-app usage events (such as screens viewed and features used), processed by us to understand and improve the product.
Payments
- If you subscribe to Blyngo Pass through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We receive transaction confirmations and subscription status, never your card or banking details.
- If we offer payment through our website, it is processed by Razorpay; we receive transaction status, not your card details.
- Blyngo does not process payments for activities themselves. Any money exchanged for an activity (for example cash or UPI) passes directly between participants and hosts, outside Blyngo.
2. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account and sign you in via OTP.
- To show you activities near you and personalise your feed.
- To let you join activities, chat with groups and build a trusted profile.
- To verify identities and keep the community safe, including reviewing reports of abuse.
- To send you push notifications about your activities, messages and account (you can turn these off in your device settings).
- To fix crashes, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the app.
- To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
3. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (data processors) who help us run Blyngo, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
| MSG91 | Delivering OTP SMS for sign-in | Phone number |
| Cloudinary | Storing and serving images | Profile photos, activity photos, verification selfies |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivering push notifications | Device push token |
| Sentry | Crash and error reporting | Device and diagnostic data, error context |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Subscription billing | Purchase and subscription status |
| Razorpay | Payment processing (web checkout, if used) | Transaction details |
Other users see the profile information you make visible (name, photo, bio, verification status, ratings), the activities you host or join, and the messages you send in shared chats. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. How long we keep data
- Account and profile data: for as long as your account is active.
- Chat messages and activity content: while the related account or activity exists.
- When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data, except records we must keep for legal, tax, security or dispute-resolution purposes (for example payment records), which are kept only as long as required.
- Crash and diagnostic data is retained for a limited period by our crash-reporting provider and then deleted.
5. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
As a data principal under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your personal data by deleting your account.
- Withdraw consent at any time (some features may stop working as a result).
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. If you cannot access the app, email hello@blyngo.org from a way we can verify and we will delete your account for you.
7. Children
Blyngo is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using Blyngo, contact us and we will remove the account.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and signed sessions. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
9. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes we will notify you in the app.
